Yoga

MediYoga is a therapeutic form of yoga, which was initially developed for the healthcare system. MediYoga is today used by various institutions, companies, associations and by others who want a holistic form of yoga. You don't have to be sick to do MediYoga, and you will enjoy it just as much no matter where you are in life or what your health condition is. I have chosen to arrange my classes so that it is a performance-free arena where everyone can participate. You can do the exercises on a chair if you wish.

There is a focus on breathing, calm exercises, relaxation and meditation.

Are you a bit curious about what MediYoga is and whether it might be something for you? Do you perhaps think that you are too rigid in your body to be able to handle it or that it is a bit weird? Come to us for a trial lesson then...

In MediYoga, we train the mental as much as the physical, and you train as much on calmness and stillness as on movement.

What is MediYoga?

MediYoga also called Medical yoga and is a therapeutic form of yoga, based on thousands of years old yoga tradition combined with renal research. The exercises in MediYoga are simple exercises that can be done in the most comfortable way, on a mat or on a chair. Body movements are combined with breathing, concentration exercises and meditation.

This is the class for you who have a lot of stress in your everyday life and feel that your head is full. This is an hour of calm, relaxation and an opportunity to quiet the thoughts. This is an hour with a focus only on yourself.

Who is MediYoga suitable for?

Participants of all ages come here to try MediYoga - common to many is that they want a form of yoga that is simple, which can provide better mobility and circulation in the body and more peace of mind - without it being too physically advanced. Many people find their way to MediYoga because they want to find calm and energy during or after a demanding period in their lives. Several have also been recommended this by a doctor, physiotherapist or psychologist, to strengthen and balance the body's own resources. MediYoga stands well on its own two feet as a holistic form of exercise that can suit everyone, and is also a bridge between yoga and healthcare for those who are at a period in their life with health challenges.

Calm MediYoga
In this class you will learn all the basic elements of MediYoga. You will learn how to adapt the exercises to your needs, so that you can take injuries/illness into account.

What happens in a MediYoga class?

Several of the yoga programs have been tested in the healthcare system and show good results for a number of health conditions. This quality seal has led to MediYoga being used in the healthcare system to an ever greater extent. Among other things, MediYoga is offered at a number of hospitals and health institutions both in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the USA as a supplement in the rehabilitation and prevention of several disease states.

The best thing about MediYoga is that the yoga exercises are relatively simple and can be adapted to your needs. Nothing should hurt, and you shouldn't perform anything. With MediYoga you train both body and mind, movement and rest, attention and presence. We love that it is so simple - but at the same time so deep and complex!

This holistic yoga is based on thousands of years of knowledge about how we hang together. In a yogic perspective, we are energy beings in a physical body, where all ill health stems from a reduced flow of energy. The flow of energy is affected by experiences and events, and we all experience an imbalance in this flow during our lives. With simple movements combined with focus and breathing, with yoga we stimulate the flow of this energy, so that the body can adjust itself and come into better balance. The body has an amazing ability to repair itself, and yoga is designed to support you to function as well as you can, with the body you have.

Holistic yoga cares for, stimulates and balances the whole of you, both body, mind, emotions and soul.

Although we spend large parts of our lives sleeping, many of us rarely think about the quality of our sleep. Do you sleep enough and what is the quality of your sleep?
